TV to be Information and Communication Hub for Great Places
Date: 26th June, 2010.One of the UK's biggest social housing providers is using Looking Local's technology to provide a totally new approach to resident information and services within their pioneering housing complexes. By combining text, interactivity and video, Looking Local is working with Great Places to deliver a resident focused offering which hopes to bring individual as well as organisational benefits.
Great Places is taking a new approach to resident services by installing touch screen TVs across their new accommodation for Alzheimer and dementia sufferers in the Blackpool area. A number of screens will be placed in communal areas on all floors of the new purpose built complexes and Looking Local has been working on adapting our interface to be as accessible to these groups as possible, as well as delivering a new range of content and services.
The Great Places TV offering will give residents a range of tailored services for their particular needs and geography as well as more general local services and will also include video content. Great Places is working with People Voice Media to show residents ultra local TV content created by community reporters along side traditional local news and event information.
The first of these services will launch in July 2010 and will roll out across new complexes as they open over the next few months.
