Council's new all-electric courier van

Warrington Borough Council has a new all-electric van in its fleet, thanks to a Government grant to support efforts to reduce air pollution. The van is completely powered by electricity, using no petrol or diesel to run. This means it doesn’t produce any emissions or contribute to traffic pollution.

Although this particular type of electric van has a limited mileage before it needs recharging, it is perfect for the council’s courier service to use for their delivery rounds.

The van is charged via a newly installed charging point at the Town Hall, where the electricity that the van uses will be monitored to assess how much it costs over time.
