- Quality:

Be sure that care staff who come to your home have been properly recruited. Ask how the agency recruits staff, if they ask for previous experience of providing care and if they take up references. Agencies should also have a complaint procedure; ask for a copy before booking a service with them.

- Health and Safety, Training, Confidentiality:

Staff should have a basic understanding of health and safety and be trained in safe moving and handling. They should be trained to carry out most tasks and you can ask what training is given. Your personal information should remain confidential and you can ask how it is stored.
